Hi, and welcome to my digital portfolio!
My name is Lauryn and I love all things creative. I got into photography around the age of nine when I went on my very first hike with my dad. He brought his camera and he let me take photos the entire hike. I instantly fell in love with photography and I will never forget that feeling.
I grew up around very creative people. My dad was almost always taking photos and creating home videos, and my two older brothers were also into film and photography. It’s one of the many things we all bond over and I am so grateful to have people in my life who share the same passions as me.
Since I can remember, I’ve always been the friend that would force my friends to do photoshoots, film music videos, and make YouTube videos. In middle school, every weekend my friends and I would go on adventures and I’d film the entire thing with my GoPro. I’d come home, sunburnt and exhausted with salt in my hair and on my skin, and I would edit these videos for hours until it was complete.
I started to take my photography to the next level in high school when I started taking senior photos. This made me realize that I could do what I love while also making a few extra bucks.
Since then, I've been doing little side gigs here and there, and have even incorporated these passions into my career.
fun facts
I grew up in Hawai’i and moved to California when I was only 17 to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Marketing. I went to Santa Monica College for my first two years and transferred to Cal State Long Beach to finish up my last two years.
I was a COVID college student. The pandemic happened halfway through my second year at SMC and I ended up moving back home for a year and a half doing everything online. It was during my senior year when they finally decided to bring back in-person classes, so I moved back to California and lived in OC with some roommates.
I love fitness. I did soccer, dance, and cheerleading during my childhood, and started going to the gym after I graduated high school in 2018. I’ve been consistently going to the gym for five years now and recently picked up lagree, which is a more intense version of pilates. I LOVE IT.
I consider myself spiritual and have always had an obsession with space, the universe, aliens, and all those things since I was a kid. My all time favorite movie is Interstellar of course, with Rush Hour coming in second and The Interview coming in third (I love comedy).
